The

sympathies to the family, friends and fans of Scott
Kalitta.
Scott was a true champion and will be missed by
everyone.
On June
21, 2008, Kalitta was killed when his Toyota Solara
Funny Car
crashed during the 4th and final round of qualifying
for the Lucas Oil
NHRA SuperNationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway
Park in Englishtown, New Jersey.
Kalitta,
who had 18 career victories and was the 1994 and
1995 NHRA POWERade
Drag Racing Series Top Fuel champion was one of
only 14 drivers in NHRA history to
earn victories in both premier nitro categories
his last victory came in Chicago in 2005 in Top
Fuel.
